Hey folks, trying to keep it a bit simpler than the old place but I'm wondering if we shouldn't still have separate categories for the subject matter, i.e. WWI, WWII, Aviation, Armour, Sci-Fi, Autos etc. I think we there should be some delimitation but maybe not quite as many as before.
Here's how things used to look to give you an idea.
Index - KiwiModeller .COM (archive.org)
Maybe start with the basics and expand, the down side to this is moderating existing topics that need to be reclassified.
The basics would be, Armour, Aviation, Naval, Auto, Sci-Fi, Diorama and Figures, I don't think we need Rail yet but if there's enough interest as we move on we can add.
Please post your thoughts and suggestions.

Why not just four topics?:
Stuff that flys
Stuff that drives
Stuff that floats
Stuff that can’t make its mind up

Then if you want sections for:
kit/aftermarket reviews/releases
Interesting articles, reference material etc
Suggestions/recommendations for Hobby Shops or online retailers

Just my 2 cents worth!!!

As of this posting, I like what you’ve got for categories so far… it’s a nice range of build types (e.g., Armor, Air, Ships, etc.) and as a member, I like being able to get right to the subject area of choice for any given moment, like when I just want to look at armor builds…

However, one area I see as a potential problem is, Build Logs vs Finished Work Galleries… I’d not prefer to see build logs and finished work threads all combined in one caragory (like Armor). For me, on forums I’ve owned, the trick was figuring out which of two ways to go: 1., like what you had at the previous KM of the subject (e.g., Armor), with the main category forum and two subforums form Build Logs and Galleries for finished work; or 2., make the main category forum say Build Logs and a subforum under it for finished work Gallery. Personally, what it comes down to on #1 is, what do you post in the main category? …I’d found folks wouldn’t know what to use it for so they would post builds and finished work, which necessitated moving threads from staff. If I went with #1, I’d make the main category area a General Discussions, and subforums for Builds and galleries. #2 is less, but is it more> (…as in quality). I’d go with #1, as outlined with a general discussions and subs of build and gallery. Of course, that’s just my opinion
