Hi all, hope all of you NZ based folk are making the most of this soggy Saturday, well it is in the mid/upper north island at least.

I've broken the seal on the Airfix 1/48 Blackburn Buccaneer S.2B for an Operation Red Flag 1977 airframe, and not the one in the box.  Here's my latest video for the YouTube channel
explaining the reasons, why and therefore's, enjoy!

Bananas, Bananas!!!

Well after a couple of nights, cutting, sanding, spraying, video editing, here’s when I’m at so far with the Buccaneer build.

Eduard and Neomega parts sprayed and looking better than anticipated, ie the Neomega parts and seats.  The Eduard seats still seem too big and the detail appears a little bland.

All paints used were SMS apart from
my trusty Mr Color 1500 Finishing Primer. Just some adjustment to be made on the top of the parachute packs as the tan is too light.  On to detail hand painting after that.

Part 2 of the Bucc build saga is being edited currently and should be up on the channel by the weekend.

Back at the bench this evening on the Buccaneer.

Working on the engine tonight using SMS and Alclad lacquers.  Up until this point I haven’t seen too much wrong with the kit but every time I test fit the fuselage together, there’s some areas beginning to show its head.  The main ones being the joint between the forward fuselage and the empennage. It’s going to be tricky to blend, particularly the area between the intakes.  Will look at those in detail closer the time.

I added a second engine from another Buccaneer kit as I opened up the access panels for the air starter hose connections so there will be something to see in there while the other will have a hose connected.
