This group build is to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It will run from 10th of July to 31st of October, 2015, following the dates of the battle.

The build is open to any scale and any subject that played a role in the Battle of Britain. While the Battle of Britain is foremost remembered as an air battle, builds including figures (e.g. famous historical figures from the battle), vehicles and armour (e.g. AA guns) and dioramas (e.g. airfield dioramas) are eligible provided a documented link can be established.

The model must be built entirely within the build dates to qualify, and the build should be accompanied by a thread in the group build forum documenting regular progress. Post your sprues at the beginning of the thread! By the end of the group build (and no later than 24 hours after the completion date) participants should post five pictures of the completed build in the group build forum which will be organised shortly.

To discourage cynical entries the build is open only to those who have been members of KiwiModeller for two months at the start of the group build and with at least thirty posts in the forums. So lurkers, get posting now if you want to enter! I will also vet for cynical or “gaming” entries and vote rigging.

No entry fee will be charged, but this is a good opportunity to make a donation to the upkeep of KiwiModeller.

The winner of the group build will be decided by popular vote. Voting will run for the week following the 1st of November, ending Midday the 8th of November. A deadlock will be decided by a separate run-off vote.

It was too hard to vote, there were 4 there I liked the same. I think there were better photos in the build logs, I don't think the photos really did them justice. I went with the HE-111 in the end purely because of the sheer amount of work involved in getting this kit done and the super finish.

Going for the HE 111 brings back all those classic lines from the BoB movie. :)

I agree this is really too close to call. A very difficult decision.
Says a lot for the quality of builds on here that there are so many worthy of winning.
Excellent GB thanks Grant.

There's some really awesome builds here but can only vote once.
Is there any chance we could change the voting system to allow each Member to have 3x votes?
I chose my vote as it looked awesome and was great to follow as well with the build pics.
But... there were several others that were awesome too!!
Any chance to spread the votes 3 ways.... favourite 3?

If each member has 3x votes... it will give recognition to some of the other entries as well.

That would be cool if possible. All entries deserve a few votes.

I agree with all this. I know it is possible to allow multiple votes on some forum software but I didn't see the option here. Perhaps this is something to think about for future group builds.

Please feel free to disregard this but a potential solution if people wished to do this would be to for people to select there first choice in the poll as normal and then put there other two choices in a post within the thread

Crikey, I'll echo the sentiments here, Some very good builds and so tricky to pick one over others, but I have  :P

Well done everyone, and good luck all . . .

On the Bench:
Tamiya 1/24 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI (1993 DTM) - "Built to Race" GB
Revell 1/24 '77 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 - getting the "Mad-Maxed" treatment - moving to the "Diorama" GB

Building on the 'sliding scale' voting option, if it is possible, I favour each member having as many votes as there are entries, a la Local Body DHB and Flag referenda. So this GB would be voted on by rating entries # 1 - # 8.
But I suspect the logistics of this are far more complicated than FPP?
In a way it wouldn't have helped me anyhow, because I was torn between 5 or 6 entries for my # 1.
In the end my vote went to the build thread I followed most closely, demonstrating the modeller's skill and attention to detail including PE detail, despite the finished photos not quite doing the build justice (in my opinion).
An excellent GB.
Congratulations one and all. Keep those votes rolling in folks.
Extra incentive - Imagine the outcome of some of these guys building a 1/24 Hawker Typhoon!!!

As the guy in the gun shop said to the Terminator when asked if he had laser sighting and an autoloader, "just what you see buddy".
One person, one vote or it gets too complicated to manage. ;)

Yes, I thought as much. I like Gibbs suggestion though.
One can enter one's preferential ratings in a post if so inclined.

Don't you mean when he asked for a plasma rifle in a 40 watt range? The shop had the autoloader & the .44 with the laser sights ;)

I agree with you Tony, some amazing work. Well done to all, including those that for one reason or another didn’t finish yet and to those who were watching and commenting. Regardless of how many votes each model gets everyone wins for what has been shared along the way. Cheers to the Community!

It really has been a pleasure to be a part of this GB. Some very fine quality kits produced with a very hard decision! They're all quality, and all deserve a mention of the hard work put in.

Good on you all, looking forward to another!
