Next armour project. was created by olive drab
Oh no not another Kingtiger! I can here Andy Cairns of AC Models comments ringing in my ears right now when I mentioned I had the MIG/Takom limited edition on the way.
But for something different;

Done as the second picture.
This vehicle features extensively in a Panzer wrecks edition, just need to find a figure to represent the attractive woman looking it over. Andy?

You can either look at Masterbox or have a nose through my box of resin bits and bobs, I've got a bunch of 1/35 Civies etc.

Good choice. I hope the turret has the range finder bulges as separate items to the turret. This is a July 45 tank. Easy enough to bring back to the famous example in the photo. It didn’t have the triple track holder set up, these were only seen on the turrets ready for installation. Watching closely

The rangefinders have locating tabs which for the March final version are removed. Accuracy wise the March final production is the only one that can be built. The reason is the turret roof plate that accomodates the cupola needs to be extended further forward to accomodate the rangefinder gear inside of the turret, and the idea of a 105mm gun was dropped before the allies captured the manufacturing plant in March, so its fictional.
I talked with AC Models yesterday and am looking to have the woman in the pic done as a commision figure to pose beside the vehicle, which in pics taken from the right have three shell strikes in the side armour, this after locals gave away the tanks position to US units, the full story is in Panzerwrecks 12, along with the colour pic shown here.

That all sounds very good. I like the commission idea. This is actually an easy diorama to build as there are shots of the vehicle from various angles, with various people at various points in time.
