Hey folks
Thinking about a couple of 1:35 armour builds in the coming months and fancied building the Tamiya Matilda III/IV as an Aussie one with the Echelon decal set... not sure how much difference there was between the two versions whether it's just details or major re-building.

Can anybody give me a little advice here ??. Thanks in advance.

Ian.

There is some scratch work I think, but nothing major. Your best bet is to find a vehicle among the google pictures you find and make adjustments according to that particular vehicle. PTO and green for particularly AU examples. Do you have the old or new kit?

Just had a look on my phone at google images "Australian Matilda tank". Lots of good examples. You have the option of adding forward tool boxes where the spare tracks are on the front fenders and the front mud flaps, and no rear spare fuel tanks. These actually did okay in the jungle, with top armour and the 2 pounder able to rip through anything the Japanese had.

Tiger model design has just released all you need apart from the wire screen on the rear deck.

Thanks both, will do some more research & digging around this evening. Bishop it's the new kit 35300, and btw what's PTO (Pacific Theatre Olive ?? - that's just a guess).

Edit:
Looking at the two sets, Mark, think I'll just get the ammo boxes for the turret, don't really want to 'go-the-whole-hog' with glacis & mantlet etc, etc. But I appreciate the effort matey.

Their new one is a very nice kit. PTO means Pacific theatre of operations, ETO means European theatre of operations, so you were very close.

Looking at a few differing 1:35 projects to make a start on in the very near future, from all over the map but all WWII.
