DML 1/35 SU-100 Beutepanzer was created by Andrew
My name is Andrew, and I have a problem

I felt like building something a bit different this week, so have pulled this SU-100 kit from the stash. Rather than 4BO, I'll be doing it as a Beutepanzer

Replacing the kit metal barrel as it has not rifling detal

Some reference

Construction begins :)

More to follow after a sleep

Thanks guys B)

Haha Tiger, I just need to get into the habit of finishing them, not starting so many

No updates on this build, I've been too busy getting my daughters new dollhouse stripped and primed ready to paint.

Will hopefully get into the tank room tonight :woohoo:

G2, if you're looking , do you have any spare 1/48 and 1/32 Balkenkruez decals?

1/48 I'm pretty sure I can find some, I've only got a couple of 1/32 german aircraft so not sure if I'll have spares there. I will have a look and see. What size in particular are you thinking of and what style?

Thanks Gaz, I'll have to measure up the hull side and let you know

Something similar to this style

Update time B) Last update for 2013 I think

I've sealed the hull halves together now. I just need to start adding all the smaller detail parts, also clean up the road wheels and make the tracks

Here are progress pics :)

Been playing with the settings on the Canon DSLR, am getting all of the kit in focus now, just need to work on lighting :silly:

Looking good mate. I'm constantly impressed by the amount of detailing you AFV nuts do.
Awesome!

After finishing the assembly on the StuH 42, I decided that I should maybe continue working on the shelf of shame

So I've pulled this back to the bench. I've cleaned up the road wheels now, and have started cleaning up the tracks, ready to make the runs

Once I've done the tracks, I'll finish adding all the fiddly bits

Progress hasn't been as quick as desired on this. The festive season has made modelling sit on the backburner a little

I'm further ahead now than what the following pics show. I should (fingers crossed) have assembly finished this weekend.

I'm trying out a different method with the tracks this time, I've glued the wheels in place inside the tracks. I made the runs using 36/36, and this was way too tight :pinch:

You need to watch the "too tight" tracks as these magic tracks can pull even tighter and give way. They seem to be okay from the shots though.

Now for some paint. I like the missing fuel tanks. Is that just for painting or intentional? I do actually like the look very much.

Thanks guys.

Tony, I have left them off intentionally. The kit tanks were a horrible fit, so thought I'd go for something visually different. Just hope they stay on for painting. I've bumped them off several times :pinch:
