Now that the Avia is done, it’s time to move on to the next aircraft in the squadron lineage. As there is no Eduard S-199 yet, that would be the Spitfire. This will be an early aircraft in the grey and green camo. I started with the Profipack model which includes photoetch, masks and markings for Israeli Mk.IXs.

The box top artwork even features the aircraft I had intended to build. To the kit, I am also adding the Barracudacast Spitfire improvement set, Brassin upper engine cowl, cast metal gear legs and exhausts (kit ones were badly cast and not useable), and Master Models gun barrels.

Have laid down cockpit base coat, but here is progress before paint happened:

Like. I'd build one too to keep you company but I have too many other started kits on the go that I really need to attend to. A big yellow helicopter comes to mind for RAF 100..

Still have 2 more to do - one in natural metal and one in gloss black so plenty of time down the road. Want to try and keep the black one to an out of box build. The natural metal one will be another full meal deal.

Great start Craig. I thought your Avia was very nicely presented.
Please say how the Brassin cowl fits. Interested in using those.

I started building models, then I was collecting more than I built. Now I'm more of an archivist.
