That's a lot of detail parts for a 72nd.
I have a 48th on the go with no extra bits so wil watching to see that all come together

Stand aside caffine, this is a job for alcohol.

It looks like you have more aftermarket parts than kit parts to put together :)

How do you intend to tackle the damaged sections? You'd think Academy would've moulded some kind of sprue protection around such a delicate part

Look forward to more progress

WOW! Some fiddly stuff! After some playing and investigation...I have found that there is no way in hell that the Pe Control panel is going to fit into the cockpit...so am going to use the PE tub and the kit control...the seat is nearly done...will post pics...the bonus is that some of the parts have been doubled up with the resin and the PE...so I have back ups! If I remember rightly I got the kit and resin for $18 and the Pe for $13...I would love to do the 1/48 so this may end up being a test run....Will try post pics soon....Ant tips for painting Resin? and Glueing? Preferred products?

Whenever I have resin extras I usually wash them first with water and detergent... if there's any release agent on the resin it should clean it off. After drying I ALWAYS shoot a base-coat of either Tamiya Plastic Primer or a light grey acrylic, then let it dry/cure for six hours minimum. Gluing - I use supermarket CA, nothing special !!

Got a little time at the desk yesterday...Thought I would have a crack at adding some detail to the bomb bay.. Never done anything like this before but I used some lead wire and some coloured (black and Red) Beading wire which I picked up from Spotlight..its good stuff! Oh...and I used the wax pick up pencil the other day too...they work great ...especially with 1/72 photo etch!!

For 1/72, that detailing is pretty good cause I know first hand how small this is!
Good job!

Wow, fantastic detail work there, makes me ashamed that I didn't put the effort into my 48th :-( then again, the Revell kit is a bit of a pig and you know what they about make up on a pig.

Good tip on the lead wire

Same here I just went in to a fishing store and they wanted $79 for a real of lead wire I nearly choked when I looked at the price. I'm after some if anyone knows where to get some online or can buy and send me some at my cost.

I too would be keen to know where from.
And for those who are wondering, .030" is about .76mm and .020" is around .5mm. Hopefully they also do .010" for the really leetle stuff.
Any chance you can fill us in on price per roll please Nos?

I just ordered some .10 .20 some bright red and bright blue, will let you know how good it was, at $6.50 a roll for the lead and $4.50 for the coloured was too good to not try it.

Nooooo, that won't do, can you cut it out and replace it with a bit of sheet plastic?

that would be the best option...I thought about reheating it but its now rock hard and brittle!..There is also a motivational issue as this was a practice build for when I buy the Tamiya 1/48, and I would like to start my D-Day build. In saying that...I hate feckin being beaten by a pit of plastic!! :pinch: ...
