Display cases was created by Gary
Well after much research and saving I've just submitted my order for a display case.
I've read good reviews about Nova displays and I know a couple of guys here have had them made, so I went with them.

Should be pretty cool, it's pretty big but should last me a life time (I intend to have a long life lol).

At 3000 W x 2000 H x 800 D It'll also take a number of Liberators, Lancasters etc.
It'll be split in to 3 sections with 5 shelves on the sides and 3 in the centre, 1 x shelf will run the full length to take my planned Rail road, with the BR52, transporters and Flak wagons etc

I had intended to have it in place by last November when I said I would retire Gary's travelling model show, but it took a bit longer than anticipated to save the $$
I'll send photos and updates as I get them for anyone interested. :)

Wow....three metres wide, that's huge. You do have some rather big models and kits though, don't you. Should look quite impressive when in place.

Yeah will be the crowning point of the man cave and will encourage me to finish some of the half built things I've got, to (rather a lot of those I'm afraid lol). Just being able to unbox all my built stuff after having it all in boxes for the past 4-5 years will be so nice, will definately be posting more pictures as it gets filled up.

Call them up, they'll see you ok, I said I'd pimp them out so if you do call just say I said. I know Terry has been in contact and said I'd pimped them.
Their products look good and I'm really happy with their service so far, I like how they are pragmatic and open to variations.

Thanks for the tip off for custom display cabinets locally G1. I've been meaning to get the ball rolling on this for a while. I found Des from Nova really personable, understanding and easy to talk to about my options. Hopefully I'll get some prices soon. :)

Wow, that's going to be an impressive display case Gary. I purchased a case from Nova Displays back in 2016, not nearly has big as yours but big enough for me. The only problem I have now is that it's full.

With the WNW Lancaster kits on the way, I might need another one.

Judging by what's in there I'd say about 1000 x 600?
There's room for the Lanc, if you move the P-51's down to surround the Fort (at least two will go down there) and one up by the Liberator you should have a spare shelf then ;)

I went with1000mm wide x 700 deep x 1800 high with the intention of displaying some of the more larger 1/32 kits. I was concerned that the B-17 was not going to fit but there was plenty of room and you can see the B-24 fits in there nicely.

Glad I went with 800 deep, I've a B-17 to put in there as well (once I take it off the shelf of shame and finish it lol).
All the big kits I can build now, I'm really looking forward to getting it, I've got lots of big kits a lot are around the 1m mark. I've got about 6 Tank transporters in 1/35 a big U-Boat, an S boat and 2 or 3 Liberators, a couple of big Lancs etc. Plus the aforementioned 1/35 Choo choo

Very quick update of where it's at in the factory, have got to move two sockets up my wall as they were 40mm too low for the 2m cabinet height, no big deal.

All being well its being delivered next Friday :D

And she's in, the guys from Nova displays were great, friendly efficient and generally nice to deal with, thanks Des if you're reading this.

It's all wires and aluminium struts but its starting to look like a cabinet :)

All in, only took them about 3.5 hours to reassemble, now all I got to do is fill it with all the old crap I've had hanging around for the past 12 years since I started modelling again.

And that's all folks, all of my travelling model show is now put away in the case, there was a certain amount of pleasure breaking up/down the various transport boxes I've amassed over the years. I now have a heap of empty Systema boxes lol, I'm sure we'll will find plenty of things to fill them with :)

I do feel they need a bit more of an arrangement but I never was any good at laying displays out :D

Cool stuff! Thanks for sharing this one with us. I like the quality of the cabinet and the lighting it has. Kind of makes me think if I got something similar and was backing it against a wall, then I'd likely have a large mirror at the back so it looked like I had twice as many models. Those 1-32 bombers that you have (and are still acquiring) will certainly fill space very quickly in the cabinet...going by the big B-24.

The cabinets look fantastic G. I'm curious how you got the 1/32 B-24 into the cabinet? Take the sliding doors off or did it go in sideways diagonally between the shelves? It looks like a tight fit!

I twisted it in, its not a tight fit, it quite happily sites nose on but it looks better at an angle, I've got space for 2 more Liberators and 2 Lancasters plus everything I can probably build in the next 10 years lol. The shelves are 800 x 1000 so fairly large, it took two of them to lift them in they are that big and unwieldly.
Night time lighting is best, without the main lights on you can take better photos to.

I just meant a tight fit going through the doors. Cabinet looks amply large enough once it's in.

Yeah it's tight fit getting it thought the doors but they showed me how to pop the doors off if I get stuck I can open it up to full 1m size.
