I had a message yesterday regarding AiC which has prompted me to do this sooner rather than later
Firstly, AiC is going ahead, this has never changed
The Waikato club will still be hosting as normal
I have taken over as President of the club and Gary is Vice.
I have started attending the AiC meetings and will be the point of contact for AiC questions
I will be catching up with Gary to relay details required from previous AiC's
Basically, we will revert back to the same sorta thing as 2017 and earlier. The plan so far:
-the models will be upstairs
-display tables (non competition models)
-kits for kids
-stash for sale
-bay hobbies in the front foyer area
-no MA unfortunately (Dave let me know if this changes, we would like to see you back!)
Get touch if you (pm or post)
-are a vendor wanting to sell
-are someone willing to help out. If there is something in particular you would like to do just let me know (kids kits, judge, etc)
-would like your own table/tables
-can offer a prize
-have some suggestions
As for prizes, I will TRY have it so that if you win a tank category you don't win a plane etc...or do people not care?
That will do for now, more to come later
-Viperbuilder: Judge & kits for kids
-Craig Sargent: Judge

Thanks Hadley for picking this up and for taking over as El Presidente, it's funny I said 2 years ago I was going to call it quits after 2018 but people didn't seem to believe me
I think 10 years at the helm of the club and the event are more than enough and it's time someone else stepped up (or was thrown under the bus in Hadley's case lol).
It was great but in all the years of organising the event I never got to just walk around and enjoy it for what it was.
So this year I'm going to be doing what almost everyone else has been doing and rock up on the day dump my crap on the tables and wander off to enjoy the event.
I'm still organising Taupo, will let people know about that when I know more, still waiting for confirmation on tables.

Its good to see someone else stepping up and taking ownership of being event coordinator, so well done Hadley. All you need is about half a dozen people to also take ownership of looking after respective areas of the event and you'll have a successful event. Just task each of your club members with bringing kits to the show for display and competition, and being rostered a few hours on one of the days helping out with one of the various taskings.
I'm quite happy to come up and help out again with the kids building kits and also the judging.
Good to hear Hadley. Great someone is carrying this on. And thanks for your decadent hard work Gaz.
I will be there all going to plan and I’m happy to help with judging again this year. I’m also now chairman of Auckland again and while I can’t guarantee anything, will try to get some of the Auckland club there again. I know there will be a few of us who are happy to bring some stuff for display, and do some modelling over the weekend too.
I have a friends wedding on that weekend but i'm hoping come up saturday morning and drop off some table fillers and maybe one or two for comp as if i get anything built this year. Then if the hang over isnt to bad will try be back up early sunday to help out.
Bumping this back up (first post edited)
Firstly, thanks to those who have offered to help!!!
Only 1 person has come back to me wanting a table, if you are wanting to display your product, or know of someone who does, please get in contact ASAP
The later you leave it the less likely we can fit you in
Accomodation booked! Hoping to be there on the Friday to help set up. Will bring the two kits to donate with me,,,Will probably have three or four kits to display/enter. Looking forward to it having missed last year!
Happy to help out with the judging again if needed altho' this may be limited as I tend to enter in a wide range of classes. I can offer kits as prizes in aircraft and car classes too. Will book my usual accomodation in the Tron next month. Hopefully I can get down on Friday to help set-up like last year...

See y'all in November.
Thanks for offering to help out Ian, let me know closer to the event what classes you'll be entering and we'll work out the rest that you can judge
As with prizes, that would be hugely appreciated again we'll touch base later to discuss. Thanks
